In Game 1, LG played a close game but couldn’t overcome a one-run deficit in the top of the ninth inning and lost 2-3. Coach Yeom Kyung-yeop expressed his disappointment in the loss, but promised, “I apologize to the fans and will try to make them smile after the second game.”

In Game 2, this promise seemed to be fulfilled. LG faltered in the top of the first inning, scoring four runs. Starter Choi Won-tae faced just one batter and was out. However, the bullpen of Lee Jung-yong (1⅔ innings), Jung Woo-young (1⅓ innings), Kim Jin-sung (⅔ innings), Baek Seung-hyun (⅔ innings), Yoo Young-chan (2⅓ innings), Ham Deok-joo (1 inning), and Ko Woo-seok (1 inning) split the remaining innings.
